High Level Louvre Replacement – Birmingham

High level Louvre replacement by rope access to West Midlands residential tower block.

Our latest emergency high level Louvre replacement sees The Comprehensive Group’s IRATA trained rope access technicians attend a residential tower block after an unsafe Louvre was highlighted in a recent Health and Safety building inspection by the tower’s owner / management agency.

Due to the tower’s height, rope access was the easiest, fastest and safest access method to carry out the initial inspection works, through to replacement of the damaged Louvre in question.

After our initial emergency make safe works, The Comprehensive Group’s rope access team proceeded to measure the Louvre so the purchasing team could source a replacement. After successfully sourcing a new aluminium Louvre, the Rope Access Technicians attended site to conduct the installation.

During our Louvre installation, the client also appointed The Comprehensive Group to conduct a detailed inspection into water ingress areas around the building’s facade. There were several water ingress locations highlighted and during the inspection emergency leak rectification works were carried out. This included the repointing up of pud lock holes where it was clearly evident water had been blowing in during recent stormy weather. Numerous residential flat windows were inspected and resealed during the inspection / leak rectification works. After successful resealing a water test was carried on site to ensure / guarantee the water ingress issues were resolved.

It is worth noting the high level Louvre replacement was on the top floor of the residential tower block stair well, so to conform with fire regulations, it was paramount that a like for like Louvre was sourced and installed.
