One of our recent, on-going projects for 2023 is located at a recently constructed retirement home, Quantock House, in Taunton. The Comprehensive Group we’re instructed by the new home owners to undertake a rolling contract of quarterly external abseil window cleaning works to the high-rise residential block’s glazing by utility rope access methods. The glass cleaning includes as glazed units and glass balconies. The façade glazing clean ensures the building maintains its new build appearance as the British weather tries to leave it’s mark on the new glass and glazing.
Every three months our IRATA trained rope access technicians access the roof area of Quantock House and descend down the facade to undertake the window cleaning. Prior to works commencing, and like all our other abseil services, project specific risk assessments and method statements were provided to our client prior for their understanding and comment.
The group of work images below depict our IRATA trained abseil technicians conducting the works, entering each balcony area to clean the inside of the glazed balconies and the glazed doors. By opting to use rope access techniques, and not accessing each balcony via the residents apartment, avoids disturbing residents by not needing to go through their home to access the balcony areas. This access method also means the residents do not need to be in and can continue their everyday routines without the impact of our team needing to gain access to their balcony area.
