Main contractor for a refurbishment project in central Birmingham contacted The Comprehensive Group as they were in desperate need to source a rope access company who were able to undertake numerous extractor duct installation within a tight timeframe so the main contractor could complete the project, hand over to their client and ensure the restaurant opening date was met.
Initially our client had instructed a scaffold company to undertake the extractor duct installation, however due to continuous delays with the scaffold installation, our client looked at alternative access solutions.
With abseiling becoming more widely recognised as a safe, effective and cost saving high level access solution, our client instructed us to undertake the works. For total peace of mind, no works will be conducted without the use of a level 3 trained IRATA technician as the site manager. Over our trading history we’ve been challenged by our clients to achieve the project requirements but these challenges have crafted us and our service offerings. After discussing the method of access, our Rope Access Technicians utilised our mobile dead weight anchors, abseiling the building’s light well to carry out the extractor duct installation. From the images taken during the rope access operation, you can see the before, during and after shots of the extractors being installed.
Completed during one site operation, the client was extremely happy to have found a viable alternative solution to scaffolding which is cost effective and set-up / dismantle time is minimal and has minimal disruptions. The project was completed within the tight deadline and the remaining of the wider refurbishment scope of works could be complete and finished site handed over to the owners of Archies Eatery for the restaurant opening at the planned date and time.
