Hotel window replacement to central London hotel, the Melia White Hotel. The Comprehensive Group were contacted by a large hotel company who had experienced one of their premium suite windows being smashed during a recent renovation project on the hotel. The damaged window not only caused a health and safety concern but also resulted in the premium suite not being able to be let out with the project potentially falling behind completion deadline! A massive potential income loss for the hotel company.
Due to the difficult access nature of the window, coupled with the externally beaded fixture, the fastest and most cost effective solution for the hotel company was to seek a rope access company to conduct the works. This type of high level glazing work is something The Comprehensive Group are seeing a growing demand for.
The nature of the hotel window replacement resulted in the site team conducting the works in two stages / visits. Arriving on site for the first phase, our IRATA trained rope access operatives descended the building face to reach the high level window and first removed the current window frame that was in-situ. After successfully removing the damaged window frame, the team then installed the new window frame. After successful window frame installation, the opening was boarded up and secured as we await the new unit to be manufactured and later installed.
Arriving back for phase two of the hotel window replacement work, the rope access operatives once again descended the building face to the boarded-up window opening. The boarding was removed and the new glazed unit positioned into place. With operatives both inside the hotel room and on the external face meant the glazed unit could easily be positioned into place for installation. Once the unit was positioned in place, it was fixed, water tested and cleaned down.
Upon successful installation the site manager reported back to the client for their inspection and project sign-off.
The newly refurbished suite can now be let out as a result.
