Rope access glass change to the Apex, Edgbaston.
The Comprehensive Group were contacted because we are trained rope access technicians who specialise in high level glass changes. The growing advantages of rope access for this type of work is becoming more and more known. Traditionally, for this type of project, the client would be required to have a road closure, traffic management and pavement closure for the crane and access method to reach the damaged window units. Opting to use rope access techniques results in none of these costly closures and management fees being incurred. Therefore the client experiences a reduced job cost along with a faster repair and no application paperwork and consultations are required.
Over our trading history we’ve been challenged by our clients to achieve the project requirements but these challenges have crafted us and our service offerings. Be it challenging access or tight deadlines we have sure to have worked on a similar project in the past. Our unique market position permits us to supply technicians who are not only abseilers but who are high level, qualified, working technicians so the inaccessible can become accessible with a fast, efficient and cost-effective solution.
After initial site survey and submittal of detailed RAMS, our client was happy and approved our Rope Access method to undertake the rope access glass change.
In addition to the numerous glass replacements via abseil, the window gaskets were aged beyond suitable repair. As the maintenance budget was restricted, the client opted to instruct our IRATA trained abseil technicians to undertake a full re-sealing of all the glazed units on site. The specification to ensure a true window refurbishment, was 10mm x 10mm fillet finish which would allow the entire building to become water tight, removing the risk of water ingress into the building.
During the works, the below images were captured to depict the works being undertaken.
